'Gris' Stage Design - 2021
Here are some of my original sketches and digital designs for the set of my secondary school's stage production of Grease, adapted to be set in the 1980s instead of the 1950s. I was given an open brief of both a school and cafe/diner side that the actors could use.
In addition to designing, I with a few others painted both sides with some changes being made in the process.

Even though the play had been adapted to be set in the 1980s rather than the 1950s I still wanted to have some classic 50s design influences. This is especially prevalent in the cafe/diner side as I combined some aspects of the quintessential 50s roadside diner with bold 80s colours, patterns and painted neon lighting.
Additionally, I created the promotional poster and pamphlet front using the digital drawing of the cafe/diner as the base for both. As well as drawing up a colour and pattern design for a themed sign in the theatre's reception.
